UHY International was proud to bring together colleagues from across the region for the Americas Regional Meeting 2026, held from 13-15 May in Toronto, Canada. This was the first of the 2026 UHY International regional conferences as UHY marks its 40th anniversary year, under the theme 'Celebrating 40 years of collaboration and growth'.
The event brought together UHY professionals from across the Americas, Europe and even from as far as the Philippines. The event provided an important platform to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and explore how the network can continue to evolve in a changing global landscape.
A Strong Start: Setting the Agenda
The meeting opened with a welcome lunch followed by a series of key sessions, including a Chairman’s welcome, a CEO update from UHY International and an introduction from the host firm UHY Forbes Andersen LLP, one of three UHY firms based in Canada.
Delegates then enjoyed an insightful keynote on 'The Outlook for Trade and Integration in the Americas,' by guest speaker Dr. Oscar Vera, which set the tone for discussions around economic trends and cross-border opportunities.
The afternoon Members Forum focused on network performance and future growth, using scorecard insights to highlight strong progress across the Americas.
Discussions explored how firms can build on this momentum through new service lines, cross-border collaboration, and continued investment in quality and innovation; setting a clear direction for the network’s next phase of growth.
Collaboration in Action
Collaboration was at the heart of the programme, with multiple opportunities for delegates to connect and exchange ideas.
Days two and three featured dedicated audit and tax breakout sessions, alongside discussions on consulting and core service areas. These sessions combined technical updates with practical insights into business development, reflecting the network’s focus on delivering value-added services to clients.
Interactive roundtables encouraged discussion on key topics, including winning cross-border work, evolving service lines, talent retention and improving collaboration across the network.

A client session exploring what it means to deliver 'trusted services' offered further valuable insight, highlighting the importance of quality, relationships, and understanding client needs in today’s professional services landscape. We were joined by Jason Tryfon of Authenticom, Mark Euteneier of Klimatrol Environmental Systems and Nick Drake of Gullco International on the panel discussing their journeys and learnings, before enjoying a client drinks reception.
Learning, Leadership and Innovation
The final day of the 2026 Americas conference placed a strong emphasis on leadership, starting with an inspiring talk and hands-on tasks hosted by Taly Fleischer, from Taly Fleishcher & Company, a NPS Customer Satisfaction session by Bryan Perez of UHY Perez and co and then an insightful talk on Sales and Psychology by Melissa Stutley from Hop Therapy. Sessions explored topics such as leadership performance, customer satisfaction and the psychology of sales; reinforcing the importance of both technical expertise and people skills in today’s environment.
Throughout the programme, a clear theme emerged: the future of the profession will be shaped not just by innovation and technology, but by the strength of relationships and the ability to build trust.
Networking and Shared Experiences
Alongside the business programme, delegates enjoyed a series of memorable networking events that showcased the best of Toronto.
The meeting began with a welcome reception and dinner at the iconic Hockey Hall of Fame, offering a unique and informal setting for delegates to reconnect and build new relationships.

This was followed by a client drinks reception and a dinner at Stratus, providing further opportunities for meaningful conversations and collaboration in a relaxed environment.
These social elements remain a cornerstone of UHY’s regional meetings, helping to foster the close-knit relationships that define the network.

Looking Ahead
As the Americas Regional Meeting 2026 concluded, the sense of momentum was clear. With strong engagement across sessions, meaningful discussions and reinforced connections between member firms, the event demonstrated the continued strength of the UHY network.
As UHY enters its next chapter, the focus remains firmly on collaboration, quality, and investing in talent, ensuring the network is well positioned to support clients in an increasingly global and complex business environment.

We would like to thank all our hosts, speakers and delegates who attended and contributed to making this year’s Americas Regional Meeting such a success.
