Peter M. Dubbers

Peter Dubbers is chairman of Govers Accountants/Advisors in the Netherlands and a board director of UHY International. Peter is a certified public accountant (RA/CPA) in the Netherlands, an industrial engineer with 30 years of experience as an auditor, and trusted advisor of large family-owned businesses and corporations covering a variety of sectors.

Professional experience

In 1980, after completing a master’s degree (ir.) in Industrial Engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven, Peter started his career at Govers Accountants/Advisors as a consultant in the areas of:

production planning, inventory control and automation
financial modelling and life insurance/pension plans and related mathematical and actuarial calculations

Peter gradually became more involved in the audit practice of the firm and in 1985 qualified as an auditor (RA). He became a partner in 1989 and his continued focus on general audit practice has led him to become responsible for some of the firm’s major clients.

His experience covers many sectors, such as construction, whole sale, retail, metal and electronics industries, supply chains, food industry and pharmaceutical industry.

Interests

Peter is on the board of a number of foundations. He was the treasurer from 1996 until 2008 of a foundation that supported the Dutch swimming team with facilities and finances (the team won 21 Olympic medals (9 gold) over the course of four Games during this time). Peter enjoys sailing, tennis and cooking in his spare time.
