Chairman – UHY International

John Wolfgang is Chairman of Urbach Hacker Young International Ltd., ("UHYI") a global organisation of member firms that deliver accounting, tax and business consulting services throughout more than 70 countries. He is based in New York City.

In addition, John serves on the UHY LLP Board of Directors and is Managing Director of UHY Advisors NY, Inc. He is a licensed CPA.

Professional Experience

John, a founding board member of UHYI, has been active in expanding the organisation’s membership, services and capabilities throughout the world since its founding in 1986. Among John’s professional accomplishments:

  • Oversees the international audit engagement for a publicly listed manufacturing company with operations in six countries.
  • Serves as a key member of UHY Advisors’ China Group, which addresses the complex accounting, tax and advisory needs unique to China-U.S. business.
  • Directs significant engagements related to private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, special purpose acquisition corporations (SPACs) and other complex transactions. Oversees reporting, due diligence and other compliance needs for private equity firms and their portfolio companies.
  • Launched the firm’s New York City practice and led its growth to become a top middle market firm for 20 years.
  • Served as a key leader in the combination of five regional accounting and consulting firms that became UHY LLP and UHY Advisors, Inc., currently ranked as the 13th largest professional services firm in the United States. Served as UHY LLP’s first managing partner.
  • Previously served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of UHY Advisors, Inc.
