Volunteer Participation
UHY actively encourages staff at member firms to contribute to UHY’s professional growth and community through working groups and special interest groups.
Working Groups
Working group members are appointed by the board of directors and are tasked with investigating, reporting and/or recommending on matters assigned by the board. The following are currently active working groups:
- Knowledge Sharing (organises the sharing of knowledge resources throughout the UHY community)
- Business Development and Marketing (gathers marketing information to share with members and comments on UHY’s marketing strategy)
- Membership Quality (monitors member quality standards, reports on compliance matters, reports on technical standards related to quality assurance and advises on implementation of review programmes)
- Training and Education (to develop educational opportunities and help member firms train their staff in technical and practice management subjects)
- UHY Forum (supervises the activities of UHY’s annual mini-MBA programme for mid-level managers)
Special Interest Groups
Special interest groups are information sharing communities focused on specific issues of interest to UHY staff. Membership is open to anyone interested in the subject matter. The following are currently active working groups (more are expected to be formed in 2006):
- Audit
- Litigation Support / Forensic Accounting
- International Tax
