UHY staffs are committed leaders and participants in organisations and societies throughout our professional and business communities. Here is a brief list of our staff's most recent accomplishments:

  • Yiangos Charalambous of UHY Axon Certified Auditors, Greece, was elected vice chairman to the Institute of the Development of Public Management and elected member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Geniki Bank.
  • Hugo Gubba of UHY Gubba & Asociados, Uruguay, was appointed a delegate for Uruguay’s AIC Audit Committee, and also President of the Audit Committee of the Accountant Association of Uruguay.
  • Venancia Sri Indrijati of KAP Hananta & Rekan, Indonesia, was re-elected as a member of the Board of Business Development Committee of the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants for 2010-2012.
  • Ferdinand Agung of KAP Hananta Budianto & Rekan, Indonesia, was re-elected as a member of the Board of Quality Review of the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants for 2010-2012.
  • Donald Boyd of Campbell Dallas LLP, UK, won the coveted title of Young Accountant of the Year in the 2011 Scottish Accountancy Awards, which was won in 2009 by the firm’s managing partner, Chris Horne.
  • UHY Advisors MI, Inc., USA, has been named one of “Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for” by Corp! Magazine for the eighth year in a row.
  • Tony Antoun & Mark Kaminski, principals of UHY Advisors MI, Inc., USA, were both recognized as “2011 Five Star Wealth Manager” by HOUR Detroit Magazine for the second consecutive year.
  • Jeff Solis, a senior accountant at UHY LLP in Sterling Heights, MI, USA, was appointed as the newest member of the Finance and Budget Committee for the Pink Rose Inspirational Foundation.
  • TietoAkseli Oy, Finland celebrated its 20th Anniversary in September 2011. To celebrate the occasion the firm held a seminar on taxation. At the evening gala TietoAkseli's partners received both 20 year and 10 year entrepreneur crosses from the Federation of Finnish Enterprises. Minister of Public Administration and Local Government Henna Virkkunen delivered the official gala speech.
  • Mikko Akselin, managing director of TietoAkseli Oy, Finland, was elected to the working committee of the Finnish Federation of Enterprises, and also to the tax committee of the Chamber of Commerce in Central Finland.
  • UHY Advisors, GA, USA, was named one of Atlanta’s “Best Places to Work” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
  • Ladislav Hornan of UHY Hacker Young, UK, was appointed to the ACCA council.
  • UHY Hacker Young, UK’s London office was awarded Platinum by the ACCA for its study support, training, monitoring and appraisal of students.
  • UHY, UAE, were appointed as a Platinum member of the ACCA.
  • Helena Budisa of UHY HB EKONOM d.o.o., Croatia, was chosen as one of 10 Croatian ambassadors of female entrepreneurship within the EU Commission.
  • Joseph Fay of UHY Fay & Co, Spain, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation Aloha College which operates the largest and most reputable international co-educational school in Southern Spain with nearly 1000 students from the age of 3 to 18.
  • David Burns, Director of UHY, UAE, was elected as Deputy Chairman of the British Business Group Dubai & Northern Emirates (BBG) the largest British business group in the world. In addition, David was re-elected as Chairman of the Royal British Legion in Dubai, which this year raised ÂŁ40,000 for the Poppy Appeal.
