Vibeke Düring Jensen, of INFO:REVISION A/S, Denmark, was elected in May 2008 a member of the Expert Committee of the Institute of State-Authorised Public Accountants in Denmark, a prestigious appointment which she continues to hold.
Joseph Fay of UHY Fay & Co, Spain, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Aloha College the most renowned International School in Southern Spain, and re-elected Treasurer of the Marbella Trade (Business) Association.
Nicola Wiggett of UHY Hacker Young, London, UK, achieved the highest test score (91%) worldwide, coming first of 28,329 people worldwide who sat the ACCA exam in June this year.
Ladislav Hornan of UHY Hacker Young, London, UK, has been elected as the first Chairman of a newly-formed Czech-British Chamber of Commerce. This UK-based initiative is supported by both the Czech and the British Governments.
Philip Hollins of UHY Hacker Young, London, UK, was elected Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in June. Philip has been a member of the Council since 1995 and held the post of Treasurer for three years.
Dr. Carlos Sandoval Aliaga of UHY Sandoval Aliaga, Peru, has been appointed a member of both the Permanent Technical Audit and IFRS Committees of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos el Perú.
Rafael Del Valle-Vega of HTR Group Del Valle & Nieves PSC, Puerto Rico, has been elected president of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos Autorizados de Puerto Rico (the CPA society for Puerto Rico).
Venancia Sri Indrijati Wijono of KAP Hananta Budianto & Rekan, Indonesia, has been appointed 2007-2008 Chair for Business Development for the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and also Vice Chair for Business Development & Local Economic Zone Development (2006-2010) for the Central Java Chamber of Commerce.
Ferdinand Agung of KAP Hananta Budianto & Rekan, Indonesia, has been appointed a member of the Quality Review Board of the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 2007-2008.
Roberto Macho of UHY Macho & Asociados, Argentina, has been appointed a member of the Board of the Inter-American Democratic Institute, a not-for-profit organisation based in Miami and with offices throughout Latin America to promote the principles of democracy and liberty across the continent.
Mike Brown of UHY Advisors, USA, was elected president of the Massachusetts State Society of CPAs. He was also named Estate Planner of the Year.
David Barton and Norman Comstock of UHY Advisors, USA, were selected to serve on the 12-member Steering Committee for the OCEG GRC-XML Provisional Jurisdiction with XBRL International.
Norman Comstock of UHY Advisors, USA, was elected Secretary of the Greater Houston Chapter of ISACA and Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee.
Brad Southern of UHY Advisors, USA, was named to the 2008-2009 Board of Governors of the American Society of Appraisers.
Kathleen Lusk of UHY Advisors, USA, was appointed to the Institute for Professionals in Taxation 2008 IPT CMI Committee; and to the 2008 Sales Tax Symposium Committee.
Roberta O'Brad of UHY Advisors, USA, was appointed to the Illinois Taxpayers Federation Sales/Use tax sub-committee.
Camelia Dobre of UHY Audit CD, Romania, has earned a Diploma of Excellence from the Chamber of Financial Auditors in Romania.
Lynn Giovinazzi of UHY Louvre Accounting Services Limited, Guernsey, has been elected to the local branch committee of the Society of Estate Practitioners.
Helen Volska of EBS, Ukraine, was ranked in the Top 10 Business Women in Ukraine by business magazine “Compan&on��?.
Oscar Gutiérrez Esquivel of UHY Glassman Esquivel y Cía. Mexico, has been appointed vice-president of Instituto Mexicano De Ejecutivos De Finanzas (IMEF) beginning 2009.
Marco Ossandón López of UHY Ossandón Auditores Consultores, Chile, has been nominated President of the Comision of Tax Studies of Asociación de Empresas V Región (ASIVA).
Miguel Ossandón López of UHY Ossandón Auditores Consultores, Chile, has been recognised by the Colegio de Contadores de Valparaíso A.G. for 30 years of service to the profession.
